FLYT Team Overview

Team 2290, FLYT, is a newly-formed FRC team based in Rockford, Illinois. As a community/open team we welcome high school students from throughout the region.

Although FLYT is starting fresh, our team retains its roots from a previous program established in 2007, carrying forward years of experience in building robots and fostering STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education.

Our mission is to inspire students through hands-on learning in robotics where they develop leadership, teamwork, and technical skills that will prepare them for the future workforce.

The mission of FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders.

What is a Community Team?

Many FRC teams are linked to specific high schools, only allowing students at that school to participate. Community teams provide opportunities for students at any high school (or home school) who don’t have teams to join.
